Your participation makes this event possible. We need you!

First Night is a community event — planned, executed, and staffed by people just like you. We are currently seeking outgoing and energetic individuals to serve as volunteers for the city’s largest New Year’s Eve Celebration in downtown Harrisonburg.  Although First Night takes place on New Year’s Eve, the preparation is a yearlong process, which requires the support and commitment of the Harrisonburg community, businesses and government officials.
More than 100 volunteers are needed to help organize a variety of events:

  • Assist with set-up for the event
  • Distribute posters and buttons
  • Check buttons at the performance venues
  • Work at children’s activities
  • Check in performers
  • Assist with keeping the downtown tidy and clean

Volunteering for one shift grants you free admission to all of the First Night venues and performances for the remainder of the evening.

First Night Harrisonburg invites you to lend a helping hand. Volunteering for one shift grants you free admission to all of the First Night venues for the remainder of the evening. Once you submit this form, you will be informed about the details of your assignment by email or phone.
